Older Hallmark Christmas Movies

Clearly stuck in Hallmark already but have noticed during wee hours there are some older movies that I would enjoy seeing during day and schedule does not show repeat. Anyone know why this happens?  Currently watching "Just in time for Christmas" .  Also " Holiday Engagement "  are examples.  Others keep repeating.

Re: Older Hallmark Christmas Movies

My favorite is "Grandpa for Christmas" with Ernest Borgnine. I only noticed it playing once last year and I couldn't watch it at that time. It's been on 2 times this season already and will be on again sometime this week and I'll be watching again.

We enjoy the Hallmark channel at our home, too.

There are older movies on the main channel and then some on the Movies and Mysteries channel but the Drama channel (which we just started receiving a short time ago) has ones such as "November Christmas" which is one of my husband's favorites.

Re: Older Hallmark Christmas Movies

I don't usually remember the names....just the plot lines.

A couple favorites had Meredith Baxter...one where she came back from the dead just for Christmas to bring her family closer together; another where she and her husband had a son who was killed in the Amy, and he came back on Christmas Eve in the form of a stranger.

I also liked the ones with Peter Falk, who was an angel.  I think I saw three different ones with that character, all good stories.

November Christmas is a favorite, too.

Re: Older Hallmark Christmas Movies

There are some holiday movies that I loved that weren't necessarily on Hallmark I don't believe that they never show anymore.

One of my faves is the Christmas List.  It was with Mimi Rogers and Marla Maples.  I think Mimi's character was Melody and she worked in a department store behind a perfume counter.  I haven't seen that movie in several years.

There was also one with Susan Lucci called Ebbie and it was basically A Christmas Carol.

The Christmas List is one of my favs too.  She wins a car with a guy and they share it.  She could tell a perfume just by smelling it.  I haven't seen it either in a while.

@alicedee, there is one on tonight at 11:00 p.m. with Peter Falk.  I think it's called The Town Without Christmas. I don't remember if it's on Hallmark or Lifetime.

Re: Older Hallmark Christmas Movies

I just told my shopping companion over breakfast that I enjoyed an older Hallmark Christmas movie. Not the same old theme we see nowadays (person goes back to home town and falls for old love, and realizes current love is a jerk).

Re: Older Hallmark Christmas Movies

As has been mentioned, there were a lot of Christmas movies which weren't Hallmark presentations. The Christmas Box, at one time aired with regularity during the holiday season, is a favorite of mine. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is another one.

Thankfully, I have those in my DVD collection, along with other favorites. But I still enjoy many of the newer movies, even if they seem silly or have repetitive themes.
