Thanks for posting @Toots711! I would love to see this. I'm a big Hepburn fan, and of course I would like to see Brazzi! That look he's giving her! I think the only movie I've seen him in is South Pacific. But what a movie!  Smiley Happy

I read once that while filming this movie Miss Hepburn fell into one of the canals in Venice.  The waters were so laden with bacteria that she got an eye infection that never totally cleared up for the rest of her life!

I love the movie "The Desk Set" because it gives a glimpse of life in NYC in the 1950s.

A simpler time in the sophisticated city.

One of my favorite movies of all time is Summertime. I have to suspend my disappointment in the adultery and go with the poignant romance.

Hepburn, though a "spinster" in this movie, plays quite a chic and attractive character.

It's true she fell into a nasty canal during filming.

It's been reported that she went into the canal at least four times until director David Lean was satisfied with the shot.

Based upon the play The Time of the Cuckoo, which starred Shirley Booth in a Tony Award winning performance on Broadway.

@Johnnyeager , Hepburn at her best! Rossano Brazzi at his finest, although all he had to do was show up as he often did, as in Light in the Piazza (a lovely movie).

@Johnnyeager , My favorite "spinster" movie, equal to or better than Summertime, is Summer and Smoke, starring Geraldine Page and Laurence Harvey. I'm sure you know that one.
