One is a tulle skirt over black pants.

The other is a black velvet gown with boning and I thought it had to have a hoop to flare so much and now that seems to be confirmed. It might have been inspired but it is definitely not the same thing.

As we all know through time and other cultures - Why do we deem some are acceptable and others are silly or ridiculous? If someone wasn't being silly or ridiculous- I would be wearing petticoats and a hopped skirt. Thank goodness for the first manly shock seeking women to don on pants.

@Yahooey granted, other cultures have men is robes, draped cloth and Scottish kilts.....but we, in America do not have a culture that have men in dresses--especially a tux-gown with a gargantuan skirt.....it appears he wants to be noticed and he achieved that notice.....what a creep is Billy Porter, who ever he is!

I didn't realize that you personally knew Billy Porter to evaluate him as a creep.

If not, I'd certainly not make a judgement as harsh based on someone wearing, what is essentially a costume for a gala event.
