Re: New Season Of The Voice

[ Edited ]

@SusieQ_2, Hey Susie!  I think you would like the show if you watch this whole season!

Your question -  now that the teams are full, the coaches have to put a pair of their singers against each other.  In other words, pick 2 of their singers, who go head to head with a song chosen by the coach (singing together), then the coach picks the one that did the best to continue on his/her team, while the "loser" can be "stolen" by one of the other coaches, if they choose to do so.

Then there are a couple more steps, but I didn't want to pile it all on at one time, so let us know if you want the whole enchilada!!  LOL

I hope I didn't make it more confusing than I meant to!   Let me know and I will try to explain better next time!!

I think the Voice is one of the. Best shows on TV right now. They always have good singers and some reall great ones.

I posted on another forum that Gary Carpenter -that Adam picked last night-is from Oswego, NY whereI live. The newspapers have been following the story and we were all waiting the outcome. Being under a contract for the show Gary was unable to share until it aired. I thought he was a really good singer. Him and his fiancé were very emotional and grateful for everything. He sang Home and did a good job.

I think Jennifer Hudson is passionate for what she is looking for in a singer. She is a little over the top sometimes but ok.

Looking forward to them starting to do the eliminations.

@MKR14  Yes, I havn't see Jennifer do anything obnoxious, so I don't know why so many don't like her.  I am looking forward to watching her coach, that will be the test for her, I would think.  If she is good, maybe the haters will lay off.

I like Miley also.  Adam and Blake, same old, same old, lol.

Why is Miley having her dad Billy Ray as a mentor? No offense to him but isn't he a one hit wonder (Achy Breaky Heart), which I never liked? I don't consider him to be a great singer, I did think he was cute. I would have rather she had someone else mentoring her team.

@Jordan2  Isn't it only for one week, then a different mentor comes in?

I'm sorry, but I had to turn the Voice off on Monday and then couldn't bring myself to watch it last night. I can't handle Jennifah Hudson. Yes, she has a good voice - we get it. But, I also don't like her referring to herself in the third person and making the show about her. I am also over the forced Adam/Blake fighting. We know they are friends and it is all so forced, that it has colored my perspective on the show. Maybe once the teams are built, I might get back and try it again. It makes me sad that one of my favorite shows has been so badly changed. Who knew I would ever think that Miley Cyrus was the mature one????

@mousiegirl, I think the mentors help out for the knockout rounds.

I usually just watch the blind auditions. Last year is the first time I watched all the shows.  I was getting really ticked off because Jennifer was getting everybody and no one else stood a chance unless they were a country singer.  If I was a contestant I would probably choose Jennifer as my coach because I enjoy belting out a song.  Personality wise I would want Adam.  In all depends on what you feel you need help with. JHud could definitely help out with breathing techniques, etc. for holding notes or key fluctuations netter than Blake could, I feel.

I am an Idol person but I can;t stand the auditions and prefer to watch it after they have been chosen to be contestants.   I have watched a few nights of X Factor UK and I have been very surprised by it.  Simon is much nicer and gentler on it.  I can hardly understand the contestants cuz' they talk so fast and with such garbled accents.  I also understand all the jokes I've heard over poor dental health care in Britian. EGADS!!

@tweetcakes157  Simon has become a mush!  I watch him on AGT and it's hard to believe  this is 'Simon Cowell'!! Fatherhood has really changed him...for the better. Woman Happy

@123SuzyQ123...hello to my fellow suzieq! Thanks for your post. It took a couple of read throughs to understand that the judges actually put 2 of their own singers against each other. Not because of how you wrote it (which was perfect) but it took a bit for me to wrap my head around it. I kept trying to get it to be that singers from different teams would go against each other and finally it clicked. So I'm guessing that when they get to a certain number on each team that's when the teams start competing against each other. Oh, I could be so wrong but...

What I wanted to say is I agree with you. I think I would like the show and I'm going to watch it. My only fear is that if my favorite guy Dave gets the boot I'll be so sad but...

I'll be a grown up and deal with it! I don't know why I wrote this so weirdly with my paragraphs ending in but. Just a mood I guess.

So again, thanks for helping out regarding the process. I appreciate it (and you!). Smiley Happy

@SusieQ_2, I do apologize, I knew the way I hastily wrote it, that it was confusing!!  Since I arrived into my late 60's (grrrr), I can't phrase things as well anymore.  I am glad you were able to 'cipher it out!!! LOL

Yes, they first go against someone on their own team, then later on, they all compete against each other.

I haven't warmed up to Jennifer yet, but that is just me,  probably.   I do think Miley is a good coach, she really seems to work hard with her team.  Or at least she did when she was a coach on a previous season.

I hope you like it, IF you decide to continue watching!

Take care, friend.

I'm watching The Voice right now. I hate that they shortchange some contestants by showing you just a snippet of the battle. It doesn't give you a chance to grow an attachment to them. I wonder how the producers of the show decide who should be spotlighted?

I don't think it's fair to the contestants that don't get showcased. Last night they showed snippets of the battles of a few of the pairs. I think to myself , who are they, I don't get to form a connection with them.  I really think they're getting shortchanged.
