I'm a little more than halfway through it.

It's a litle like The Resident and Chicago Med combined, both of which I watch so I'm not sure I want to invest in another medical show.  The beginning even starts out just like some of the Resident episodes with the main character going for a run.

It's still holding my interest.

I noticed in the credits that Shaun Cassidy is a supervising producer.

I was surprised to learn that New Amsterdam in based on a true story.

Refer to:  "Dr. Eric Manheimer chronicled his experiences at Bellevue in the 2012 book "Twelve Patients"

I'm out.  I ended up watching half of last week and deleting the rest.  I just don't care for it.

Agree, it's nothing special. I won't follow it but might watch occasionally depending on what else is on.

I guess I'm in the minority,  I real.y liked it !   I dont know this actor from anything else never watched Blacklist so had nothing to compare his acting to.   Yes ,ithere was a lot going on and I'm hoping after a few episodes it will be calmer.  I like the premise of doctors caring about patients as it isn't lways that way  I know.  A lot of the time it's the bottom line and the $$$.  I have a specialist that is very much like this dr.  always  on the go and helping everyone ,  very much cares for me and his other patients , goes far beyond what he has to.  He is young as this doctor is .  Don't know if that is why .

@Kitty Galore I too liked it. I also don't know this lead actor from anything else. I will continue to DVR it and watch it within the days following the original airing.

@World Traveler

I always liked him in “Blacklist.”

Am watching this new show and enjoying it.

Still on the fence.  We catch up on HULU when we can since it is not a priority for us.

Not sure how he supposed to be there for his wife when he now has to undergo cancer treatment himself.   Wasn't that the whole issue-his absence?

Storyline is skewered a bit.

I haven't been bowled over by this show but each episode does seem to have its moments. Last night I loved the way Dr. Sharpe explained to the young girl whose cancer had recurred what it was like to die.

April is Autism Awareness/Acceptance month.
