I found the show a bit much for a first episode...trying to fit in just about every conceivable plot possible. A lot of it was cliche and predictable. It almost seemed like a compilation of Chicago Med and ER all in one show.

I really thought I was going to like this show based on the previews, but I agree, way too much going on in the first episode.  I doubt I will watch again.

I like Ryan Eggold better as Tom Keen on the "Blacklist" than Dr. Godwin on "New Amersterdam."

The show was ok but do not think it will be a "must see" for me.

I guess I'm in the minority,  I real.y liked it !   I dont know this actor from anything else never watched Blacklist so had nothing to compare his acting to.   Yes ,ithere was a lot going on and I'm hoping after a few episodes it will be calmer.  I like the premise of doctors caring about patients as it isn't lways that way  I know.  A lot of the time it's the bottom line and the $$$.  I have a specialist that is very much like this dr.  always  on the go and helping everyone ,  very much cares for me and his other patients , goes far beyond what he has to.  He is young as this doctor is .  Don't know if that is why .

He was also on the 90210 reboot a few years ago...

Not even close to being 'must see' for me either.

I wasn't all that impressed with Amsterdam. I may watch one more time and see if i like it better. They took off the best hospital type show which was Code Black. Cancelled when it was in the top 10 shows every week all Summer. That show was thrilling.

I enjoyed watching Tom - I mean Max. The show was pretty good. I’ll tune in next week.

I was able to watch the first half, got busy on something else and although my husband recorded it for us to see later, I said, it's a good show if you like medical-type shows.  I don't plan to watch it weekly.  I use to like Gray's Anatomy...can't believe it's still on.

@Kitty Galore I too liked it. I also don't know this lead actor from anything else. I will continue to DVR it and watch it within the days following the original airing.

I am not sure on this new show. I will watch another episode to see if it holds my interest.

I think there was too much going on in the first episode, too all over the place.
