My niece told me she was watching this show. It's on Netflix, 10 episode about 30 minutes each (Mindy Kaling is a creator of the show). It's about a young girl of Indian descent in high school (sophomore). Her father has recently died, she has a crush on the popular boy in school. I didn't think I would like this (too old for the show), but I enjoyed it.

Just finished and loved it! Highly recommend. I think good old-fashioned humour and poignancy works - regardless of age. Ahem...it's been many years since I've been in high school. There are some charming family dynamics at work in this story too.
