Netflix - recommendations???

I guess I'm getting picky because I'm not finding anything that appeals to me.  I'm asking for recommendations, but I don't like things that are all about wars, extreme spy things that are so complicated, soapy love stories, things with overt se*, not a lot of gore, etc.  I like a good story which has some mystery to it. I like stories which are seemingly about regular people.  I don't like stories about glam people, teeny boppers, or 20 somethings who are dating tons of people and climbing the corporate ladder.  See -- I am picky!  And I don't mind foreign series, but they have to have the English subtitles.  Thanks!

@AngelPuppy1

I am watching the 5 seasons of S.W.A.T. on Netflix and enjoying it, i have never watched this series on CBS which I understand is now cancelled, the episodes are about 45 min long, I usually watch about 2 episodes before going to bed if you like this type of TV cop drama.

New Amsterdam is very good.  It's a hospital drama.

Also, Lincoln Lawyer is enjoyable, from Michael Connelley

I’m wondering if you would like Lupin? Maybe read up about it, as, although it’s not about spies, maybe it would fall under that category for you? (In an aside to any fans reading this, just googled and apparently season 3 is set to come out in October.)

The Night Agent

To get an idea what each is about and see how each is rated, you might want to look at IMBD. I added a shortcut to my desk top for this site and I rely on it. Stranger Things has teens in it, so it probably isn't for you. The Night Agent is about spies, so it's out for you.
