We just finished this series, which is probably a couple of years old.
My reservation about this series is that it is scary as all get-out!
The acting is excellent and so is the story, but who should watch?
I didn’t think teen life could get any scarier, but here it is!
The scenes are graphic and the language is pretty harsh.
Maybe parents should watch and then decide if their teen/s should?
I don’t think it is for everyone.

I had the same reaction when I watched this series.....glad I have not parented teens for a couple decades.

Same here!
Snd just think.... adding in the cruelty of social media to make it even worse!

I loved this show , i am glad i went to school before social media. Of course things are exagerated for suspense , but in general i hate to say real life maybe even worse for some teens.

Thought we had watched it all after Season 1 but then found out there is a season 2.
I’m still processing it.
There was a discussion with experts after.
We enjoyed hearing what they had to say.
Nobody at my high school fit ANY of the characters.
DH asked me if there was bullying at my Hs. Not that I was aware of.
I do think the Season 2 sought better answers from the counselor, but at the Hs where I taught, watch out for the parents if you try to stop a student from leaving the counselor’s office!
I’m reading that a Season 3 is in the works.
What to think about that?

I watched season 2 as soon as it hit Netflix. As much as the first season affected me, there’s a horriific scene near the end of season 2 that bothered me even more. I’m not sure I can watch a third season.

I don’t know what story they will tell or what they hope to accomplish with a third season. I think any lessons have been taught and now it’s about other things...money, fame, shock value.
First season...she killed herself.
Second...the trial.
Third...what? Mass killing? Do they really want to go there?

These shows are wonderful tools for parents to start conversations with their children. Anyone who does not think these things are happening in High School...even Middle School are just burying their heads in the sand. As long as these things are swept under the rug or thought of as entertainment for "shock value" or to make money, they will continue. The children deserve better
