Will be watching it. One of my favorites. We bought a new TV this week. What a difference. I guess we really needed one. Now I am really looking forward to seeing the movie.

@Diva on The Q Thanks for reminding me. I saw that it was going to be on yesterday but got distracted and didn't set my DVR or even my reminder. I love this movie, like everyone else. I think Natalie Wood had so much beauty and class in her personal life. So sad.
After Splendor In The Grass, they're showing Pillow Talk. From the sublime to the ridiculous. Pillow Talk stars Rock Hudson, Doris Day, Tony Randall and Thelma Ritter. It's what I call a bubble gum movie.
Thanks again.

Splendor in the Grass::
One of 'ALL TIME' favorite movies!
This movie is very poginant!
Watch her face when she looks at Bud at the end.
There's still that love she totally missed.
What could have been - that will never be
_WAS_ because: listening to someone else who is living vicariously through their child.
No one is actually truly happy. There is no turning back.
I believe when people, especially when young, absolutely do not follow their instincts, this is a brutal clue when - how & what life can sling back to you.
She picks up the (Bud's) baby, then there's a stabbing pain for only seconds, as she thinks, this could have been my baby.
She tells the psychiatrist, I think I love John.
She will never forget this strong ``..meant to be.

On one of my posting last evening, I wrote (similar to your signature memo) for valentine's Day:
"My eyes lightens up still, when my husband walks in the room"
{'Yours said, if your face BRIGHTEN when you meet a friend'}
"...my husband is my best friend''; his voice is like the taste~ hearing a beautiful song.
I certainly know that I struck _Gold_

I always felt that the ending was one of the most satisfying endings of any film. She goes through all that heartache and that breakdown all because of a high school sweetheart. In the end she realizes she dodged a bullet, because she would have ended up in squalor if they’d stayed together. Instead, she gets to move away to Cincinnati and marry a doctor.

I missed this thread, but luckily I happened on the movie almost at the beginning. When I realized what was on, of course I was hooked. Natalie was always one of my favorites growing up, and then to pair her with Warren Beatty and such a heart tugging story, oh boy! I hadn't watched this one from start to finish in years. Soooo good. Personally, I think the ending is part of what makes it such a great movie. It wouldn't have as much impact if the ending were "happily ever after." Anyway, I agree with everyone else that this is just a wonderful movie. 💕💕💕

It's one of my all time favorite movies.
I was obsessed with "Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood."
"What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind."
- William Wordsworth
