Re: My Big Fat Fabulous Life

@mousiegirl  I agree with you.  When buddy started talking about all his old drug haunts it turned me off, if he isn't using I feel it's just a matter of time.  For someone supposedly going to meetings for his addictions he should know that people, places and things are a big trigger to start using again.

I quit watching a couple of years ago and the promos that are on constantly haven't made me want to watch.  I actually admired Whitney's ability to handle the insults that were hurled at her.  But then the show seemed to try to convince people that an an extremely overweight young woman who had several health scares and melt downs, had an enviable life.  I realize that this is just a scripted reality show but her life is not fabulous and the weight will eventually destroy her health.  I'm not sermonizing as I'm overweight myself.  But 250 extra pounds will catch up to her.

@bootsanne ITA. I think the show at least shows that overweight people  have feelings and are not to be put down for being overweight. But, that saying, we all know that anyone 400 pounds is not healthy no matter what.

The human frame for  a female her height is just not made to handle that much fat and weight.  Her heart is going to give out and joints as she ages.  I do not care how much she exercises or "dances"( if you call what she does dancing...)   her body will break down.  She is only in her 30's.... I can not see her in her 60's still at that weight and doing fine. She probably will not live to see 50 at 400 pounds.

And we all know her diet does not consist just vegetables and lean protein.... she  can blame some of her health complaints on  POS condition or whatever it is called.... but obviously she is consuming too many calories and over eating.

@SeaMaiden  Whitney finally admitted that she has had an eating disorder since she was very young, and POS is not the reason she is overweight, so I think this is a step in the right direction, and her trainer, who also once had an eating disorder, is helping her more than her previous trainer because she is training her knowing this and relating to this, which is why Whitney is losing weight steadily, but as you and I mentioned, she should be eating healthier food in lesser amounts, hopefully this is happening.

Re: My Big Fat Fabulous Life

In Bab's first marriage pics I noticed she looked a lot like Whitney does now, minus the weight. I wish they'd throw Buddy off the show. I find him gross and and don't desire to hear about his issues.

@colliemom4   They are DESPERATE for story lines....thus Buddy.....if Buddy was not in the mix scre*ing things up....the show would have no basis. Whitney being a fat dancer is OLD NEWS.

I have to agree about Buddy, why is he on the show.  I do not believe he is clean and sober he does not work, I dont think he ever paid Whitney rent even when he was working.  I am totally not understanding Heather.  What is the attraction with Buddy???

[ Edited ]

I have been watching for a few seasons and it seems this one is the most scripted yet! Plus that could not have really been a bag of cocaine since it is illegal right?! And surely Heather is over Buddy by now and that crying was fake. Who would get  that upset over his being there ( I think that was a promo for next week)

Re: My Big Fat Fabulous Life

Heather is really taking one for the team this season. She goes from being mostly level headed to 16 year old drama queen. I have to say Whitney is making great steps in the right direction. A long way to go but doing a nice job starting the process.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Re: My Big Fat Fabulous Life

I think that Babs was a really pretty woman when she was younger.  I feel bad for Heather that she still feels something for Buddy which is a dead end for her.  Hope she moves on this season.  Also, Buddy should move away and not impose on Whitney as she does not need that stress in her life now.  She should concentrate on her weight and getting herself in shape and I hope that is what she ends up doing.  The original theme of the show was to inspire overweight women to think more positive of themselves and I thought that was great so they should redirect back to that. They probably are trying to do that by taking the act on the road so I hope that it works out.  Friends I have had that had a weight problem start a gym and then before you know it, they bow out and give up.  It is so easy not to go to the gym.  I am overweight and need to lose and it is a struggle any day when I go to the gym because I simply don't want to go but I keep on trying.  I get discouraged too because it seems like it is not coming off but I try to keep level headed about it and keep on going.  It helps to have people like Whitney who inspire others.

@miata1  Don't give up!  Smiley Happy  Have you tried eating smaller portions more frequently during a day rather than regular sized meals, which is individual?  Eat lots of blueberries, just set a bowl out and whenever you feel the urge to eat, pop a handful in your mouth, can do this all day without many calories, no fat, and good for you.
