Mountain Men New Season 2022

The new season of Mountain Men begins tonight on History channel. It is one of my husband's favorite shows. I like to watch because of the scenery. These are folks living in out of the way places and surviving off Mother Nature.

On a personal note, we had a chuckle a few years back when we realized two acquaintances of ours in New Mexico were authentic mountain men. My husband would talk to them about hunting, fishing, and growing food in the short mountain season.  I laughed one day after one of them showed pictures of a sheep or goat (I don't remember which) he had tracked and killed for part of his winter meat supply. I told my husband that he had spent hours watching that show and did not realize he was visiting with a legitimate version in real life.

My husband watches this show also.  He's a vicarious 'mountain man'.

Re: Mountain Men New Season 2022

Mountain Men could be an interesting show at times but issues arise with some of them.

Marty is genuine.  It is too bad he left the series.

Eustace -there is a book about him and he really does live the life, overall.  He is the most promoter of caring for the environment (and has 2 college degrees).

Tom Oar actually retired to Florida years ago.   He and Nancy signed on to do the series but they do not actually live there all year.  He cries poverty all the time-look at his house and property!  Plus he traps beavers by drowning them.  Not cool.

Morgan Beasely and Margaret Stern-not truly mountain people, either.  They do not even live in that little house.  Morgan actually works as a private pilot.

Ethan Hawk already had money and was also left an inheritance to start up his business.

While this show demonstrates some instruction on living off the grid, most of them are not true mountain people.

We met real mountain folk in Colorado and if you talk with them you see they are nothing like most of them on this show.

I've watched this show since the beginning.
I thought Jason Hawk left the show because he was diagnosed with cancer.
He seems to have a thriving business selling knives.

There's something about Eustace that doesn't seem legit to me.

That old man with the beard and big brother and the wife in pigtails did leave and went to Florida. Tom.   at their kids request wanted them to have easier life in their old age, but, as I understand it they hated Florida and the easy life and moved back to the mountains.

I think they're all nuts. LOL Besides eventually they will be nudged out by developers. Not a space in America where you don't have to worry about others coming in on you. Don't care if your in the outback , way out in Timbuckto, etc. Eventually, others will come in on you.

Jackie O bought her own island to get away from photographers and then they just flew overhead to take their pics. She couldn't buy the air.

I've watched this show for years when I catch it.  Never know when or where it's on.  I'm just sorry my dad isn't alive to see it.  He would have loved it!
