TCM will be showing one of my favorite "mother" movies, I Remember Mama.

The Mother's Day lineup also includes Mildred Pierce, My Reputation, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Postcards From the Edge....

I would have included Stella Davis, the best sacrificing mother movie.

Any others.....

Bad mothers would have to be topped by The Manchurian Candidate.

How abt the Mother in the  1962 movie " Gypsy "

 " Rose Hovick (Rosalind Russell) pushes her two young daughters into the entertainment industry, traveling and promoting them with minimal success. After years in the business, younger daughter June quits and elopes, leaving Rose searching for work for her other, less talented daughter, Louise ( Natalie Wood ) .The only offer is at a burlesque house, but Louise takes to it and transforms herself into the popular Gypsy Rose Lee. As Louise gains notoriety, she grows tired of her mother's influence. "

I am so excited - SYFY is having a Mother's Day marathon of the complete Bates Motel! After my mom died, I remember telling my dad that I was sad that Mom didn't get to see how it ended. I don't think he appreciated it, but now that will be my annual Mother's Day activity.

Stella Dallas was always shown on the morning of Mothers Day on TCM, why not this year?

Antenna TV is having a One Day at a Time marathon on Mom's Day.

They also used to show "Imitation of Life" with 2 single mothers & their problems with their daughters.  Lana Turner wears the most stunning outfits in this movie.

I love "Madame X".  At the end when she lay dying and her lawyer/son  pleads with her to let him find and tell her son....and if "you were my mother, I would want to know.."
