Madeleine McCann documentary on Netflix

[ Edited ]

Anyone going to watch it? It was the little British girl that disappeared in Portugal.. that was all over the news...

I am going to over the weekend.

I think she was abducted for child trafficing.....but I wonder what the Parents were thinking leaving the kids alone in the resort sleeping....

I decided against it, since she wasn't found.  I can't take how heart-wrenching this is.  Same with the teen who disappeared and they think that young man killed her.  I just can't imagine the heartache these parents must go through.

I won’t watch it. It’s a shame that the parents were suspected for so long. They’re already living with the guilt of putting Madeleine to bed & leaving.

That’s the part I don’t get. I would never have put my son to bed & left, period. One error in judgement can literally ruin your life!!

Other than that I think they loved their daughter & would never harm her.I believe she was taken.

Seems to cruel to make documentaries of these situations, knowing the families and friends live with the unknown so many years later. Why would you want to see such a heartbreaking movie? I'd be afraid the producer would have his/her bias and attempt to slant the movie. No, I would never see such a movie without all the facts. It's too unfair to the families involved.

Re: Madeleine McCann documentary on Netflix

Apparently, the Netflix documentary series makes the case that Maddie was abducted by child traffickers, a line of questioning that was not pursued heavily by Portuguese police.

Techniques, including facial recognition, are getting better and since they never found her body, she could still be alive.

It would also be good to know the mistakes that were made in the beginning, so If anyone I know found themselves in a simailr situation, they would know what not to do.

I watched it , and was shocked at how it sided with the Mccanns. They never really showed the evidence against them. Like the blue tennis bag in the closet photo, that he said he never had.  Also was the cadaver dogs, dogs do not lie. I lean toward them being guilty. It was also thought all the kids were sedated.

@BirkiLady   On the flip side, it brings renewed publicity to the case, and possibly new leads.

I watched several episodes.  It's not just the rehash of old material.  It really does go deeper into the incident and it covers the events from various standpoints.  I wasn't going to watch it but I am glad I did.  I'll finish it this weekend.

I'm still getting over Leaving Neverland...so sickening.  I remember this case in the news.  The sweet baby's face still tugs at my heartstrings.
