I do not mind a comment regarding what school is marching or what Broadway play is being presented, etc.

It is important to recognized the talent especially of the young people who have worked hard to be selected to march in this parade.

It is all the other inane talking that ruins the parade. Tell us what is coming up and let it be so we can enjoy watching and listening.
