I didn't watch but it sounds like the fault of the network that broadcast the parade rather than the parade itself.

Peeved about a parade? It's a parade.
I've been live and in person once, and it's glorious. I watch it every year at home.
Santa's float is always about 2 minutes at the end of the parade. Just enough time to float along, with no script or song. Didn't his float come down after that human Christmas tree? I saw no difference this year compared to the last several years of Santa's alloted time in the parade.
Dislike of Mariah Carey aside (I actually like her), it's
the Thanksgiving Day Parade. It's been about Broadway, movies, singers, toys, and commercialism for decades.

We haven't watced the parade in years. Too much talking by the "hosts" and often nothing to do with the parade.
It's too bad to read about Mariah. While she has an incredible voice range, I agree she is no queen for Christmas. I guess she sang that worn out "All I Want for Christmas is You"?
Please. The parade is really for the chidren and waiting for Santa is the highlight for them. Nothing like taking away from children.

This was also my thought.

I don't care for her and I really dislike the song. Doesn't seem like a true Christmas song at all. Can't understand how it became so popular as a top Christmas song. I agree......self-proclaiming herself the Queen of Christmas doesn't make it so!!!!!!!!! What an ego that takes!!!!!!!!!!

I lasted 2 minutes
@jackthebear You nailed it! This parade and its rubber balloons and references to NYC entertainment has always left me cold. I've always skipped it.

I lasted maybe five minutes because I tried both channels. I don't want to listen to that awful nonstop commentary. Just choose a location and show the parade passing by from beginning to end.

I stopped watching the parade MANY years ago; I equate it to why I do not watch QVC presentations, which is the non-stop talking by the hosts.

I have no interest in watching the parade and the endless commercials and ads for all things New York. As far as M.C., she is just too full of herself, as someone else stated. Can't stand her and that song that is soooooo overplayed that I am sick of it.
