Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

Good post, @Wsmom .  You can learn alot about a person looking at their Facebook page.  While I am not on Facebook, my sister was a property manager for over 70 apartments.  She always looked at a prospective renter's Facebook and could tell alot about them.  ALOT!  People are stupid.

My opinions are lightening up about Michelle.  The bad edit suggestion is a good one.  There has to be a bad "guy" and it looks like she is it.

It will be interesting to see Ikechi's true personality evolve.  I hope he doesn't have a dark side.  Emem has shown to be a highly successful, yet kind and fun girl.

Juan is single minded, one path for him.  His apartment screamed bachelor, hammock and all.  He is going to be rigid, I'm afraid.  Poor Karla, burning sage isn't going to lighten him up lol......

Hi, everyone!
I finally am into watching this season of MAFS!
Where to watch was bothersome to me, so now I’m watching it on Prime, which includes the After Party.

The episode I’m just finishing has to do with Dr. Pia being called in to couples for help.

Dr. Pia is genius! Never thought this until now, but she has handled the couples with issues in a very effective way. I can't even believe how talented she is at turning negative people around so they behave within the couple interactions in a positive way!

Ikeichi is/was especially problematic! And right now he seems as if he understood Emem better...and she him too.

Then there's Michelle...Dr. Pia gets her to look within to see that her past life is adversely affecting her ability to accept David in the present.

I have never seen Dr. Pia this effective!

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

I agree, @LTT1 , about Pia.  While I am NO fan of the experts, she did step up this week giving sound advice.  The game she gave Madison and Allen to play was a bit lame.  I would hope that therapists don't really offer such tactics, but what do I know.

Madison is going through the motions and Allen is giddy with being matched with such a "babe".  She isn't all she thinks she is and even admitted that Allen is much more committed than she is.  Big red flag.

I don't think any of the couples will say yes at the end.  I think Camille will find something wrong with Thomas and will be unable to commit.  He is really smitten with her.

Karla and Juan are not what each other wants or needs. If he isn't attracted to her by now, he never will be. She can burn sage until the cows come home, it isn't going to help her.

While David seems like a fun and nice guy, he isn't the driven guy that Michelle wants.  His living conditions would be a big turn off to me, too, however, I would have to cut the guy some slack for the shows sake.  The experts know from experience that a guy living in momma's basement isn't going to work out for an established career woman in her 30's.....especially someone as rigid as Michelle.

Emem and Ick (as we call him on the other forum) are both strange people.  At the prewedding party she couldn't stop talking about what "all" she was going to "do" with her new hubby.  Apparently, it is too "aggressive" for the Ick and he is turned off by her actions.  If, as he says, she doesn't respect him when he says, "no", then it gives another perspective of her and their relationship.  Pia gave good advice, but they aren't going to come together.

Hopefully things pick up now that it's back from the three-week break, @Fiddlededum .  I haven't watched last night's show yet.

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

Well, I still don't like any of the women, and I still continue to hate the Ick man. I don't like Emem, either, and I wish she would lose those stupid eyelashes. Her whole posture is bizarre because she has to leab forward to see around them or something. I think she is way too smart and professional to be mixed up with him, and he is not worth the tears she is shedding (in private).

I think all of the men deserve better than the women they were matched with (excluding, of course, Ick). I am enjoying Juan sticking it to Karla when he was asking some basic business acumen plans and she had nothing. There is no way she is or can be an entrepeneur. And I love that she admitted that she can't be managed. She needs someone with nothing but money to throw away.

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

Perfect post, @Lisa now in AZ .  I agree completely.  I was going to begin by saying just what you did about not caring for ICK or Emem.  They are both strange, but in different ways.  The previews actually show them working with Cal and PIA, even after him packing up and moving out.

Yes, all the men deserve better.

Did anyone watch the show with Kevin Frazer?  They showed previews of each couple.  It looks as if Juan is being questioned by PIA about his fidelity.  Karla is really out there, but does not deserve to be treated bad.  I am just going by what the previews "looked" like or what they want us to think.  They also want us to think that everything isn't roses in Camille and Tom's world.

At the one month anniversary dinner, Michelle looked like a bobble head.  She kept doing just what he had just pointed out that she always does as far as conversation.  And then to bring up his outfit.  He could have shown up in a 3 piece suit and she would have found fault.

And the kiss on the cheek when Allen won at tennis - she has him in the friend zone and that is as far as it will ever go.

The experts did it again.  Total failure.  I doubt any will say yes on decision day......

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

I forgot to mention that I really disliked those planned activities where Camille was still mad at Tom for being late (even though he had a good reason) and she punished him by making him do those basketball sprints. I don't know why these women need to humiliate their spouses. Being competitive is one thing, but planning an activity where the goal was to beat and humiliate the husband is just mean. I am glad that Allen beat Madison. Although, all he got was a cheek kiss. I am glad he didn't have to run around like a chicken, as she wanted. These are not nice women.
