Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

@lizzys

Are they really moving to Peacock?  Is this so they can be more se*ually explicit???  Or what?  I guess the money is involved though.  It's all about money --- yeah.

I am with you -- Thomas is the only one I really like.  I did sort of like Allan but now not so much.  The rest of them are so messed up.  And these people are so mismatched -- oh, my -- it's painful to watch them.

Do these people ever stop and think before they say things that are ignorant, mean, stupid, etc?  I don't care if you are not particularly liking the partner you have or whatever, do they have to go out of their way to say crappy things to each other?  I know a lot of things we don't see and are taken out of context but really, either these people have a lot of serious mental issues or they are protraying them that way just to try and make the show more interesting.  I guess its hard to know how you would react to something until you are in the situation yourself, but honestly, I think if I were in a lot of these scenarios, I would just try to say tactfully - listen - I'm sure you would make somebody a great husband/wife but we are just not meshing and the attraction is just not there.  Period.  So, let's just be kind to each other and try and enjoy this experience.  I mean - trying to force something that isn't there is just never going to work and just brings out the worst in everyone.

Very well said, @AngelPuppy1 .  I could never do this process.  I would rather be single than put into this type situation.  I would do the same thing you mentioned, tell them off camera this isn't going to work.  We can go through the motions, be kind to one another and move on.

@HisElk1  If this moves to Peacock, I will be out.  I am not going to pay anymore for cable shows than we already are.  Maybe it is for the better......Woman Wink.

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

I am with you - I am not getting Peacock. I didn't when they moved Days of Our Lives, and I am not going to for this. They renewed this show for 3 more seasons, so who knows how much more graphic and salacious it will be. It is already more than I am interested in. I think they are looking for a younger demographic who is more interested in the drama than the original intent - to find a spouse. Since there haven't been many of those in the past several seasons, maybe they are just focusing on as much drama and cruelty they can put into an 8-week experiment.

@Lisa now in AZ   Peacock streaming, just another step down!

                   I heard Season 19 is in Austin, TX.

 Season 20 ( not positive about this) is in KCMO.

Season  21 , What? Way  off in 2027? I have no clue where and when.

 I have to say I will miss you guys and the comradery we had here more than I will MAFS itself, if we're no longer watching and posting in the future, due to the move from Lifetime to Peacock and paid streaming. They really shot themselves in the foot with that stupid move. Some people were barely hanging on with their decline anyway.

 I think we sortof formed a bond, based off our commonalities if that makes sense. I noticed too that as much as we disliked the downhill slide of MAFS, we were a loyal viewing audience, and we deciphered things about the couples, that most people didn't even pick up on. Good job guys.

   I'm wondering if this so-called [ "younger more savvy viewing audience"] that they're aspiring to appeal to, will be as loyal over the years, and seasons, as we have all been. I very much doubt it.

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

@Fiddlededum , (((hugs))) to you for your wonderful, kind post.

I hope as long as these forums are still around, we can post about some of the TV shows we like to watch.

I have always found your posts to be interesting, well written and enjoyable.  As long as this forum is still here, I hope we can all find another area to share ideas and thoughts.

Please take care and don't let us wonder how you are doing.

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

Maybe we can find a way to still talk about the show. I don't watch Days of our Lives anymore, but there are some sites that do daily summaries, which I do read and then still contribute to those discussions. Maybe there will be some of those podcasts or other sites that discuss the show that we can follow and discuss?

I also look forward to reading everyone's opinions of the show and the cast, so will miss that. But, at least we now know what it will take to make us stop watching. $$$$ or maybe likeable people we WANT to cheer for. We don't have that anymore.

Re: MAFS - season in Chicago

I just thought of something about the show.  Every once in awhile, I'll go to their facebook page and read some of the comments as they are interesting.

It seems like a lot of people are really liking Thomas the most; Michelle/Madison (aka I'm so beautiful) are being roasted big time for how they are acting.

Just a thought.

@tends2dogs

I get Peacock as part of a package that I already pay for.  I wouldn't pay extra for Peacock either.  Maybe this is not a done deal but if so, there will be another way to watch it.
