The stroke occurred Wednesday, with paramedics showing up to his Sherman Oaks home at about 9:40 A.M. He was brought to a hospital shortly thereafter, and his current condition has yet to be disclosed.
Originally known for his role as Dylan McKay on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” Perry has yet to sign onto the series’ reboot, which was announced by Fox on Wednesday.
Perry, 52, has starred as Fred Andrews, father to Archie, on the CW hit “Riverdale” since the show premiered in 2017.
Prior to the stroke, he was filming episodes in Los Angeles.
This story is developing. Check back for updates.

From TMZ:
8:38 AM PT --" A rep for Luke tells TMZ ... he is currently under observation at the hospital.

Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke Wednesday, and is currently hospitalized ... TMZ has learned.
Paramedics responded to Luke's home in Sherman Oaks around 9:40 AM. We know the call came into the fire department for someone suffering a stroke, and Luke was transported to a nearby hospital. It's unclear what his condition is right now."
The 52-year-old who stars as Archie's dad, Fred Andrews, on "Riverdale" ... had been shooting episodes recently in L.A. on the Warner Bros. lot.
Luke's medical crisis coincidentally struck on the very same day Fox announced it will reboot "Beverly Hills, 90210" -- the show on which he shot to fame, playing Dylan McKay in the 90s.
While his former costars -- Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestly, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling and Gabrielle Carteris -- will be on the revived series, Luke has not signed on to the project.

I think that he was/is a smoker for many years.I know that Jason Priestly who played Brandon Walsh is also a heavy smoker. Not that this matters now, but, it could have played a part in Luke Perrys stroke. He is no longer a young man.

Sad news. I hope Luke comes out of it okay.

I was horrified to read this online. He's only 52. At my age of 71 I guess that's why I was so shocked.
I hope he makes a good recovery.

latest update. TPTB are telling two stories. one is the medically induced coma, the others say he is resting and under observation. spin doctors? Not sure which is the more accurate.
