Good point regarding using bribe money for academic tutors instead.
Parents know their children's interests. Wish my son had finished college - dyslexic and zero interest beyond sophomore year. Yet, he has other skills. Makes an honest wage for a good company and works hard. Daughter works for major airlines - another is a special education teacher. I couldn't make any of them do anything or be something they didn't want. Which says good things about my kids. The disconnect between these particular parents and their children is mind boggling.
