Re: Looking for great comedies or mysteries (thrillers) movies

[ Edited ]

I always loved It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. I find this movie so funny and enjoyable. Uncle Miltie, Spencer Tracy, Johnathan Winters, Sid Cesar, Ethel Merman, Dic Shawn (my favorite in this) Buddy Hackett. I could keep going.

Something About Mary - Ben Stiller Cameron Diaz

Dumb and Dumber  Jim Carrey

The King of Comedy Robert Deniro (loved him here)  and Jerry Lewis

"Irma la Douce" (1963) is funny, PLUS a luscious AndrePrevn musical score.

"Harvey" (Jimmy Stewart) is whimsical and shockingly current.

If you like "Airplane" type humor, "Airplane 2" continues the wonderfully crafted sillinesss.

"Wait Until Dark" good performances and lots of suspense.

A good comedy is The Owl and the Pussycat with Barbra Streisand and George Segal.
