@SilleeMee

Autotune wasn't created until Cher used it for Believe.

They didn't have the technology back in the 70s.🤷‍♀️

And people are mentioning Beyoncé...she doesn't use autotune, either.

100% real.

@sidsmom   Incorrect.  She has used it as well as other current artists.

It isn't used to make a bad singer sound good, either, so it isn't a negative against her singing skills.

You have to start out with reasonable pipes; autotune does not make a poor singer a good singer.

@Cakers3

I googled 'beyonce autotune'.....and found this.

Create a electronic, trap feel. Have to really listen for it but I like this song.

And video is cute💛

My favorite LR song is Different Drum when she was with the Stone Poneys.  Mike Nesmith (The Monkees) wrote that song.

Her last note in Blue Bayou is a testament to her superior vocal ability.

Her live rendition of the old Cat Stevens song, "The First Cut Is The Deepest" from 1973 gets me every time:

I love Linda.  She has always been my favorite female singer.  My favorite album of hers is Prisoner in Disguise.

One thing about Linda, as to why she may not have seemed as big, even back then, was that she did not do her own writing, so has gotten no song-writing royalties all these years.  Only did "covers" of other people's songs.

I love her cover versions of Buddy Holly's It's So Easy, Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You, and The Left Banke's Walk Away Rene.

She also, I believe, started out as a Country artist, who crossed-over into soft/pop rock.

I've been waiting for the CNN Special and plan on watching it.

No.  She was not the queen of rock & roll in her time.  She was a popular singer.  She was not a household name at all.  That being said, I liked her music very much.

@NYCLatinaMe Beautiful voice and giving personality.  Her back up band in the early time was The Eagles.  They have nothing but the best to say about her.  She encourage them.  She was also a long-time girlfriend of Gerry Brown, former governor of California.  I was at a few of her concerts.  Her voice was spectacular and clear.  She now has parkinsons disease.  So sad that her voice is silenced.
