Hi @golding76 that was my impression, that she was folk, and pop, since she did top the charts.

@colliemom4. Well stated. She wasnt like Beyonce because she didnt have a PR machine working on her image and promoting her like "Queen Bey" does. Nor did she wear sexy costumes and as someone else stated she wasnt a diva. But she was indeed a superstar 40 years ago and Glenn Frey and Don Henley were backups for her, later to become The Eagles.

I loved her too. Fabulous voice. I thought she has MS.

I believe Henley and Frey (the Eagles) were part of her band for a while.

And neither did Linda R have Beyonce's voice and creative talent.

@LTT1 -

Wow! I didn't know she sang somewhere out there. That is such a beautiful song.

I remember her but was surprised to hear people say she was the queen of rock. Then when I heard her songs again on the Kennedy Center tribute, I remembered how popular her songs were and yes she did have a beautiful voice.

I guess there were other more prominent singers when I was growing up so I didn't realize she was such a huge star.

I listen to a 70s music channel on my Spectrum lineup

so they play several of her popular songs.

I was enjoying the memory of listening when I was younger,

tapping my toes to the beat when...it struck me....

Her song lyrics are ALOT about being hurt.

Made me kinda sad.....
