Last night's Chiefs - streaming only?

This was a first.  We settled in to watch the Chiefs game last night.  During all the preliminary babble they kept saying the game would only stream on Peacock.  Sure enough, before the kick-off our cable station went to just the three commentors and we could not view the game.

That's extortion!  We're paying for cable, why should we have to pay for an additional streaming sight to see a game?

@PilatesLover   I was surprised to find the game on a Canadian channel CTV which ended up being not hd but watchable; bottom line, I guess it's all about money.

It was well publicized for at least several days before the game

I looked and looked for the game on my YouTubeTV to no avail.  So then I decided to watch On Patrol Live (which no longer is live), and there was the game.  So I got to watch it after all on Peacock.

It's not extortion it's the way of the future.  The Streaming companies are paying big bucks to get the rights of those broadcasts and more and more will be on streaming channels.  Amazon already owns rights to Thursday night football games and some Monday night games were only on ESPN.  We just need to make a choice how much we want to watch that game. My 28 year old son called to "borrow" my Peacock sign on. It will be interesting to see how many people actually signed up for Peacock yesterday.

Haven't the Thursday night games been streaming on Prime?

NFL is a big money making business, with broadcasters jumping on the bandwagon. That's why you have games starting at three different times, or more, on different channels, and now on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and some Saturdays.

I don't think its anymore extortion then when you needed to sign up for cable and add additional ESPN.

Time changes, media, changes, and watching entertainment (which sports is) is something for which most are willing to pay.

Just like Days of Our Lives is on Peacock only, thankfully I get it free with my Comcast cable.

I dont have Prime and there were weekly football games on there, missed them

Our local nbc affiliate made a statement last nite that they had nothing to do with the game on Peacock and they were sorry.

@Kachina624,  On Patrol Live is mostly certainly broadcast live at 9 to midnight eastern on both Friday and Saturday nights with repeat of the current day's broadcast starting at midnight eastern.  I watch on Reelz.

Are you saying repeats of OPL are shown on Peacock?

Same here! We pay ridiculous prices for cable and then can't even watch mainstream sports anymore??
My hubby was also shocked and peeved!!

Cable TV has just gone into toilet... Researching alternatives, cutting the cord!!
