The Moody Blues - "For My Lady". Written and sung by Ray Thomas who was my favorite Moody (and the wonderful flautist).

 

Also on the sadder yet hopeful side is "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran.

Simon Le Bon (lead singer) wrote it for a friend who had passed away.
