I wanted to watch it and I wanted to like it --- but I just couldn't!  I saw maybe 10 minutes --- and I was like --- yuck!  I don't see how it got all the awards it did.

I, too, used to love all the old time "real" song and dance movies from way back.  This was ---- a joke.  Sorry --- it was just bad.

I am so glad I didn't pay to see this last December at the theatre.

Neither of the lead characters has a strong or talented enough voice to pull off a "musical."  Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy both Emma stone and Ryan Gosling as actors/actresses, but not as musicians.

I almost stopped watching it on HBO, but like another poster mentioned, I did like the unusual ending.

There are certain types of movies I prefer to see in a theater and this was one.  I saw it when it first came out and loved it.  I can't imagine it being half as good watching it on a TV.
