These kids are very brave being seated up on a huge stage directly facing the adult audience with only 1 or 2 of their peers sitting quite a distance away from them. If I was a kid I'd be terrified. I know their parents are seated in the audience but still...
Seems to me if I recall the original, the kids were sat in chairs much closer together and were not facing the audience. They were directly seated in front of the seated audience and it seemed to me the audience too was full of kids their age, not all adults staring intently at them.
Maybe this is like a screen test for them. They are all attractive kids and dressed up very well.
