Thank you for the reminder.  Sesame Street is an honoree - strange they'd honor a show, not a person.

I'd suggest the show to my parents, but think Sally Field is the only person in which they'd be familiar or interested.

I think they will be a no show as in the previous two years. I love watching this every year, it's always entertaining, sometimes I'm not familiar with someone, I can be informed.

@deepwaterdotter it was taped earlier in the week, I believe.   No, they were not there (for the third year).  The VP was there.

They're airing this early this year. It's usually on closer to New Year's Eve. I enjoy the show but I get the feeling this isn't a ratings bonanza!

Poor Linda Ronstadt looked as if she longed to be singing Blue Bayou and When Will I Be Loved as Carrie Underwood sang them in tribute to her. Carrie did a good job, but nobody sings those songs like Linda did....she owns them. I feel sorry for her not being able to sing any more. 😥

The tribute to Linda was fantastic! Aaron Neville and Trisha Yearwood 's performance was so touching. Carrie Underwood was also very good.
