He is one of my favorite actors, although I haven't seen a lot of his futuristic movies.

A college student was standing behind him at an airline check-in counter. He didn't recognize him and said nothing about the way he dressed made him look any different from a "tired traveler." He said he talked to the attendant at the counter in a low voice. In the waiting area he smiled at a mom with two children and gave her his seat.

Then when people went up to check their bags, the gate agent kept saying, "You're all set. Your baggage fee has been taken care of." People thought it was an airline promo of some kind, but this college student was still curious so he asked the attendant if it was. She smiled and tilted her head to Keanu.

Apparently he had noticed a couple of people trying to rearrange their luggage to avoid extra fees. He gave his card to the attendant and told her to take care of everyone but not to say anything.

Mid flight one of the flight attendants told the passengers who paid for their luggage. Everyone applauded. Another passenger said Keanu looked embarrassed and waved to everyone.

The college student said, "I spent $50 on snacks and complained about it. This man spent over a grand on strangers' luggage and never said a word. I'll remember that forever."

You never know who's behind the kindness until it's already in motion. It probably changed this college student's life forever.

I've always been a fan @beach-mom although, like you, I haven't watched any of those Matrix movies. It's nice to hear a story like this about the "rich and famous". Thanks for sharing and putting a smile on my face.

For the better part of a week he was in my work neighborhood, at Montgomery and Pine Streets in San Francisco, filming scenes for The Matrix Resurrections movie. Everyone said he was consistently gracious and kind to people passing on the street who wanted to speak to him or take a picture with him, in between filming scenes. On one of my lunch breaks, I saw him standing on the opposite street corner, which was technically the movie set at that moment, and he looked like a regular guy amongst co-workers. There was no entourage surrounding or buffering him from others on the crew or passersby. He seemed to be a truly down-to-earth guy.
