I saw her perform "Younger Men" at the end of the Gulf War. She had an amazing voice, and she could put on a show!

The AP did not give a cause of death, but her friend said she had been battling Parkinson's and had been living in assisted care for 4 years. She tested positive for COVID last week.

One talented lady.

@beach-mom   I had never heard of her....probably because I was not into county music in the 80's.  I googled her name and wow what a great artist she was! ThankYou for sharing so I can appreciate her life  and influence in American music.

@SeaMaiden - I had never heard of her before either, and country music wasn't my thing. But I remember those white gloves she wore. She just had the audience entranced. I can't even remember who the other performers were!

I always thought about her, but never really followed her. I wish I had. I think she was underrated. It was the time of Shania, Reba, Martina, etc. - probably hard to compete.

My husband and I always enjoyed her music.
