He was good also on one of the Die Hard Movies.

Wonderful actor.  I remember several of his roles.  The one that made me laugh was when he and Stacey Keach played a couple on 2 and Half Men.

James Evans was my favorite tv dad. I respect Ester Rolle for fighting to have a husband in her spinoff from Maude, the executives had other ideas. Good Times was my absolute favorite sitcom and I passed the love on to my children, they were so sad to learn of John Amos' passing. He will forever be remembered as James and the aging Kunta Kinte.
