Joanna Barnes - The Parent Trap

Has died at the age of 89. She played Brian Keith's golddigger girlfriend in the original version. One of my favorite childhood movies. She also appeared in the remake with Lindsay Lohan, but not sure what character she played.

If memory serves me, I think Joanna Barnes played the "mother" in the newest (Lindsay Lohan) "Parent Trap," ... and the "girlfriend" in the older (Hayley Mills) version. But my memory is far from perfect!

@twinsister Thanks, I hadn't seen this news. She was in a lot of TV shows too, back in "our" day.

I remember her most fondly as snooty Gloria Upson in "Auntie Mame", 1958.

In the 1998 version of Parent Trap Joanna Barnes played the mother of the girl the father was planning on marrying.

Natasha Richardson played the mother of the two twins played by Lindsay Lohan in the remake of the Parent Trap. Her character was named Elizabeth James.....she was a wedding gown designer.
