Another several weeks of guest hosts: Dr. Sanjay Gupta (June 29 thru July 9), and only one week each of the following three....George Stephanopoulos (July 12-16), Robin Roberts (July 19-23), and Levar Burton (July 26-30).
I've heard of Dr. Gupta many times, but have not taken the time to listen to any of his TV appearances. He is a neurosurgeon, medical reporter, and writer, who was born in 1969 in Michigan.
According to Wikipedia, he serves as an associate chief of the neurosurgery service at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, associate professor of neurosurgery at the Emory University School of Medicine, and chief medical correspondent for CNN.
He is known for his many TV appearances on health-related issues and was a frequent contributor to numerous CNN shows covering the pandemic. He had his own CNN show, for which he won multiple Emmy Awards. His list of participation in TV programs seems to be quite extensive.
Of note, in January 2009, it was announced that the doctor had been considered for the position of Surgeon General by President-elect Obama. Some doctors said his communication skills and high profile would allow him to highlight medical issues and prioritize medical reform. Others raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest with drug companies who sponsored his broadcasts and his lack of skepticism in weighing the costs and benefits of medical treatments.
Well, there is much, much more about him, but I guess the bottom line is that he could hold a meaningful conversation with Amy Farrah Fowler/Blossom!

I realize this is totally irrelevent to his professional credentials, but I think he's rather attractive. Bring on the answers.

Since some of you have mentioned his looks, I'm posting this photo. Wish my teeth looked that good!

Looking forward to him hosting. Wonder who will ultimately be the host after this period is over. I don't think anyone could "take over" for Alex but am hoping for an enjoyable host. When I watched Jeopardy at the beginning of his hosting, I wasn't 100% sold on him so this will be interesting.

I first heard of Dr. Gupta many years ago when he wrote a fiction book named Monday Mornings. I found it very interesting and I know he is much too busy with more importatnt things, bu I really enjoyed that book and wished he could write another. He is a special person.

Dr. Gupta’s latest book is “ Keep Sharp, Build a Better Brain at Any Age.” I admire Dr. Gupta, both for his knowledge and personality, and his book has received good reviews. It is in my stack of “to read books.” It seems to be very thorough, as I would expect from a prominent neurologist, yet quite easy to understand.
