Please tell me if the game was a runaway or whether the champ was defeated.  DH accidentally deleted the recording.   :-(

He started a little slow but ultimately won in a run-away.  Still champ!

I really like him and not just because he's so intelligent. I think he would be a fun friend. His students are blessed to have an exceptional teacher.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category The 1940s) for Wednesday, September 18, 2019 (Season 36, Episode 8):

This nickname for a history-changing weapon of 1945 came from a character in “The Maltese Falcon”

This fellow is playing the game like the other big winner, but for some reason, I find this guy more likeable.  I do get a little tired of the same winner going on for weeks, but he doesn't have that smugness the other big winner had.

He is not unbeatable, and I thought tonight he may have met his match, but he wound up winning big in the end.

I like both winners, and never saw any smugness in James.
