Re: Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson shows

I can not stand either of these two woman... Kelly is loud, obnoxious, has a lisp and dresses like a clown... like no one I have ever seen.  Her interviews are BAD... her show even worse...

the other one, Jennifer, is  just not a good show host. Stick to singing and doing weight watchers commercials or whatever weight plan she used to make millions.  Not everyone can do a interview entertainment show... and these two are FAILURES at best....

Re: Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson shows

Anybody remember when Jennifer Hudson had a clothes line on QVC.....maybe about ten years ago?  She wasn't even familiar with her line.  She repeated the same sales cue words for each item.  Each host she worked with had to carry her.  I'm sure she was busy but why have a clothing line and not be able to speak about it.

Why on earth would JH even think about a talk show? Is she out of money and figures she just can? Or maybe the network just needs somebody to fill this time slot.  I don't watch these talk shows, don't like them, don't like the hosts, don't like The View because I especially can not stand that guy who now in on The new Love Boat, he's absolutely rude and ignorant. Don't watch Drew B either, can't even imagine why they'd renew her show.

I'd rather watch reruns on most any program than these ridculously stupid talk shows. These new ones will last one season then they'll be gone baby gone.

@PINKdogWOOD- I believe you mean the Talk and you're speaking of Jerry O'Connell.

Seems all the 'talk shows' are simply there to promote actors, singers, what-have-you, and mostly I just do not care about all that.  The shows are time fillers and they can send them to the streaming line-ups that I never pay for to watch!

Re: Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson shows

I watched two episodes of Jennifer's show, and I've seen parts of Kelly's show.

I find Kelly more personable, but I have no interest in watching either show again.

Let's not leave out Sherri Shepard. What a waste of an hour.

I think they both should stick to singing careers...

Re: Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson shows

Jennifer doesn't seem to have the personality to carry a talk show.  I watched one time and she seemed awkward and uncomfortable.   I guess she could learn and grow into it.

As for Kelly, I agree that she is a terrible interviewer.

She doesn't shut up and turns the interview into her own experiences and opinions. Everything becomes about her!

(Perhaps she would make a suitable QVC host.)

My favorite daytime show is Drew, but unfortunately ratings are poor.  Oh well....she had a better run than many others.

Re: Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson shows

While I enjoy the past work and personalities of all the women talk show hosts, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson and Sherri Shepherd, I just feel that this whole talk show genre is a flailing fish taking its last breath -- pretty much like soap operas.

I don't know what channel Jennifer Hudson is on.  I do love her voice.  Kelly has a very outgoing personality and relates to everyone and that has made her successful.  I have not seen Dr. Phil new season show.  A lot of the actors want to be on her show.

There will always be "talk shows" of this type, because singers need a forum to promote tours and songs, authors to push books and actors to plug their latest project on film or television.

Kelly appears to have replaced Ellen as a crucial stop on celebrity-friendly publicity tours.  She is nice and doesn't ask hard or awkward questions, looking for a scoop or hard news.

They are now a vital part of the marketing and promotion machine.
