Lately, I'm seeing her showing up a lot. She's showing up in three projects I've seen or will see soon. 

In Hacks, she stars and plays a comedian on an HBO MAX series.

In Super Intelligence, she plays along with  Melissa McCarthy in a comedy movie 

In Mare of Eastown, she plays the mother of the main character in a limited series on HBO

I find her to be a skilled and entertaining actor in everything she does.

I like her and I'm glad she is getting work.

Her huband passed away not long ago.  Maybe she want to keep busy.

I liked most every role that Jean Smart played except for her role in Frasier.   I never cared for that character.   

My absolute favorite role was the one of Charlene in Designing Women.  She was just made for that character.   What a joy she was to watch as that sweet although somewhat naive office manager.

She is really popping up on TV often.  I think she is very talented.  Thought she always was outshined on Designing Women.  Love her on Mare of Eastown.

Many years ago, I had a neighbor that worked with her.  He said she was very nice, funny and kind.

@Tessa Mendoza  thank you for posting this. I missed Richard Gilliland had died in March of this year. He met Jean on the set of Designing Women when he was paired with Annie Potts playing J.D. Shackelford. They were married for almost 34 years.

She was amazing in Fargo, season two I think it was. The opposite of Charlene 🙂.

I've always liked her.

She was good as Charlene on Designing Women, and as Lana on Frasier. Totally opposite characters, LOL!

She was also good as the (morally questionable) next door neighbor in The Brady Bunch Movie.

She also popped up in a few episodes playing Governor Jameson in the Hawaii Five-0 TV series remake.
