Dies at 85.  I used to love that show and him when I was a teenager!

Re: James Drury, the Virginian

Oh my word, I was only in elementary and never ever missed an episode just so I could see him.  Between him and Rowdy (Clint Eastwood) I was always "in love."  No Donny Osmond for me just the boy's of the westerns.  James must have been really young when he did that series.

Me too! I was madly in love with Gil Favor, Paladin, and Adam Cartwright. (I was a fickle teenager). I still love westerns. My all time favorite movie is the original Magnificent 7. Sigh.......

Re: James Drury, the Virginian

Oh, how sad.  I watch the Virginian whenever it is on.  I also like Trampas, Doug McClure, from the same show.  And, yes, Clint Eastwood on Rawhide was very nice to look at, too.

Re: James Drury, the Virginian

I agree with @TVLand's post. I really liked Drury -a very attractive man- and his character who was always honorable and did the right thing.
Sad that he has passed away, may he rest in peace.
