Re: Is Farmhouse Rules being cancelled?

Can't stand Nancy Fuller.   She seems like such a fake.  Even when they parade her grandchildren on the show they don't seem that crazy about her either. Lol

She doesn't seem comfortable in front of the camera and it shows.  I'd much rather see new Ina Garten shows.

Not a fan of Valerie Bertinelli or Patricia Heaton either. Both yawnfests.

I've never warmed up to her or the show so I also use the remote when it is on.

Christiopher Kimball is gone from America's Test Kitchen.  There was always something about him that was off-putting to me.  The last I heard, Bridget and Julia were going to co-host.  I hope that doesn't mean that won't be cooking/baking because I enjoy watching both of them.

I also love Sara Moulton.  Her show on The Food Channel was always my favorite and am so glad she is part of CREATE now so that I'm able to watch her.

Christopher Kimball is a very condescending person.  I think he is almost rude.  I like Bridget a lot, and Julia I for some reason can't warm up to, great way to put it, either but I find her watchable.

@Sooner...I totally agree.  Bridget is, by far, my favorite and Julia is OK but I'd take her any day over CK..

Re: Is Farmhouse Rules being cancelled?

I have never enjoyed this show.  I always change the channel also when she is on.  I feel like when her family is on, it so scripted and they are only there cuz they get to be on tv and I get very tired of hearing how impressed she is with herself.  I do love her big old farmhouse though.

I just can't listen to that sing-song loud voice of hers, and her cooking isn't to my taste either.  I do wish they would get some other REAL chefs with something to say about cooking.

I also hear the cranky old guy on America's Test Kitchen is being replaced next year.  I wish they would Sara Moulton!  She's really good and would be perfect for that show!  I am so tired of the celebrity know-nothing's on now.

The cranky old guy (Christopher Kimball) on America's Test Kitchen created that show and magazine. I read that he wanted a big raise and didn't get it. He's being replaced by the guy who does the taste tests on that show. I think his name is Jack.

You said exactly what I think.  Those family shows do NOT seem natural at all.  And I feel like you do about Valerie and Patricia as well, and feel they have little new or interesting to add to the mix of cooking shows.

I do love to watch Jacque Pepin however and I learn a lot from watching him, and I think his stories are interesting most of the time.

@cookinfreak - I agree with you totally. Her rhyming and sing-song voice is very off-putting. At least FN made her stop the "yummy, yummy, yummy in my tummy ..." nonsense. Also, for someone who was a caterer for over 26 years, her knife skills (chopping) are extremely elementary. Even my chopping skills are better than that. She's the only cook on TV that I've ever seen do that. All-in-all, she's just too loud and pushy for my taste. Sara Moulton is a great example of a TV cooking show host!

The yummy, yummy, yummy thing was way over the top.  Along with the Gigi juice references.  Ugh!

I agree about CK, too. So condescending.
