Not a film I ever cared for. I believe I read somewhere Christopher Plummer called it "The Sound of Money".

I love "The Sound of Music" - it's probably my all-time favorite movie. My favorite song is Edelweiss - all the music is wonderful though. And the scenery is spectacular! Lucky you @judy0330 getting to take a Sound of Music tour - that does sound like a fun tour.

It's hard to pick one scene, but, one of the scenes I like a lot is the scene in Maria's bedroom where all the children end up coming to during the thunderstorm and Maria sings "My Favorite Things" - she wins the children over!

@Group 5 minus 1  that's Christopher Plummer for you!  Realizing  how snarky he is in 'real life' confirmed, to me,  he's a terrific  actor!

@QVCkitty1. I hadn't seen it until my late 30's and when I did I loved it. I really was missing something. If it's on again I'll watch it again (as I do now whenever it's on).

@qualitygal  I love all the songs, except maybe Sixteen Going On Seventeen. But I guess my favorite moment is Climb Every Mountain sung by the Reverend Mother. Such a beautiful voice for her age! And, yes, I also heard that Plummer thought the movie was incredibly sappy, but I don't care what he thought about it.

@PA Mom-mom. Are you sure the actress playing the nun was really doing the singing?
I've read many times Plummer wasn't and in the film it doesn't appear to me she's doing her own singing (I could be wrong though. I forgot now who even played the Reverand Mother).

I don't like many musicals, but I love this one from start to finish. Such a beautiful movie. One of those things I always watch when it's on.
