This article lists a lot of period dramas.   I liked "The Paradise"  

What a great resource! I loved The Paradise too.  I also liked, Gran Hotel, Alias Grace, and North and South.

The title does not do it justice-far better than anything I imagined-

Wonderful scenery, costumes, and acting!

@on the bay Stayed up last night since I'm off today and watched the last 3 episodes!  Wasn't Guy, the "detremental" just Mmmmmmmm!!!
