IVANHOE: FATHER AND DAUGHTER

Just watched Ivanhoe.  Again, old Hollywood has cast an oldster (Robert Taylor, 41) with a young woman (Elizabeth Taylor, 20) as a love interest!  It's hard to believe in a romance between father and daughter!  Didn't they have any young leading men back then???

I know they were not related in the Ivanhoe story.  I just meant that they should have cast a much younger actor to play the love interest of a 20-year-old Elizabeth Taylor. 

 

Robert Taylor was cast in a number of leading man roles long after he was too old for the role--IMHO!
