Re: How To Marry A Milliinaire

Love this movie, but unfortunately don't get TMC... There are so many good films like this out there and why the supposed dedicated movie channels don't feature more of them is a mystery to me... Instead, they seem to keep showing the same ones over and over, along with many they'd be better off skipping... Must boil down to profit, as most things do... Really a shame...

Re: How To Marry A Milliinaire

It is on the Movies Channel - not TCM.

I am going to check it out. It was one of Betty Grable's last movies.

It's a cute movie. Anything with William Powell has my vote.

@stevieb  It is not TCM.  It is WFLDM and on my TV it is channel 363.

Marilyn Monroe is so funny in this, trying to hide her extreme nearsightedness.  Then, David Wayne compliments her "distinguished look" in glasses, and gives her confidence a big boost!

@Oznell  One of my favorite lines in the movie is when LB ( Schatze) says to WP (J.D.) when he's trying to convince her that he's to old for her, she says, " I've always liked old men. Look at Churchill, look at Roosevelt, look at that old fellow what's his name,  in African Queen. Absolutely crazy about him (Humphrey Bogart)"!. Great lines! That slid those lines in perfectly! Always puts a smile on my face.

Should have added, she married Humphrey Bogart in 1945 and this movie was in 1953! That was my point, if I didn't make myself clear.

Everyone, enjoy the rest of the weekend!

OK Ladies

Hang around and watch - We Are Not Married. I enjoy that movie. Quite a cast of characters, especially the Zsa Zsa Gabor portion of the movie.
