Re: How Did You Like Beyoncé's Halftime Show?

I really liked the show. Her daughter is a star already. I only liked the last popular song.

Sort of offensively stereotyping the real cowboy.

I guess I'm just not a Beyonce fan.

Her version of "Jolene" doesn't compare to Dolly Parton's original, IMO.  Sometimes, no matter who you are, you should just leave the classics alone. .. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I'm glad for those who enjoyed it and I know this won't be popular, but it left me unimpressed.

 Not a fan, never was, doubt I ever will be . . . but I'm glad so many enjoyed the performance.

What about her costume? Did anyone notice the back of her costume or should I say the lack of it on the bottom !! Very interesting!! Not impressed with her or Jay-Z.

Loved Byonce, the gorgeous horses, costumes, and choreography.  I am waiting for a show with Chris Jackson (his Monday Night Football song is the best in years) and Jelly Roll for a half-time performance.

Re: How Did You Like Beyoncé's Halftime Show?

I loved it!  Very entertaining and beautifully staged.

Beyonce is a native Texan -- born and raised in Houston.  She's never denied being "country" for one minute of her incredible career.  Her  popular music genre wasn't country music, but now she's doing more country music that she has always loved.  Why does that bother some people???

Ray Charles and Lionel Richie (and many more music trailblazers) made successful country music albums in their day, and lots continue to do so.  Making music across different genres sounds extremely creative and talented to me.  I don't remember the derisive outcry about them back then.  But sadly, it's different now.

I thought it was awful.  It was just a mishmash and a mess.  There were tons of people involved and it was all over the place but I just thought it was disconcerted and not cohesive.  It was just her basically I think trying to show that bigger is better and that is not always the case.  Not for me.

@We rescue cats

I did not like her doing Jolene.  She could not hold a candle to Dolly doing it and I don't feel it was necessary or appropriate.  She will never be a true country star - she's a wannabe.  Taylor switched from country and is now the super star in pop and so now she wants to switch over to country and see is she can be the super star in this genre.

@ AngelPuppy! I agree completely! The other day while Christmas shopping -don’t know who the artist was - but was singing Elvis’s Blue Christmas. OMG ! Stop! We caught the end of her half time show and my granddaughter who is 16 said” why is she wearing chap” . Now I realize the show was country!
