This is probably a dumb question but, how do these design, renovation home shows keep running with building supplies price increase of of over 800%?  Maybe they have some real deep pockets?

We are just finishing a 800 foot add on.  Nothing, at all, increased that much.  Really 800%?

There were delays but it worked out.

Which products are you referring to?

We did our reno DURING covid since Lowes was open and we were stuck at home.

After, the prices on lumber, plumbing and electrical doubled.  That's about 200%....never, ever saw 800%.

Paint was not quite double, but almost.

For once, we did it before things got bad!

Prices have come down since, DH always checks.  He figures we saved thousands (did the work ourselves)

Most of those shows were filmed 6 months to a year ago or more.

They were probably filmed a while ago before the increase in the prices.

Has anyone watched the show Home Work on the Magnolia Channel?  The couple bought an old abandonded school building and are turning it into their home for them and their combined 7 kids?  I would love to know how much that reno is costing them.

I don't particularly care for the decorating style, too much stuff around, too much big stuff on the walls and very dark colors.
