At least one REALLY GOOD REASON to watch "Gone With The Wind". Drooling over Clark Gable and Superman trivia are two others.

May Miss McDaniel rest in peace!  A trailblazer; must have had a very brave heart.

Superman trivia?  That's new to me.

Re: Hattie McDaniel!s Birthday

The book is nice, I have read it a couple of times.  But some point, when the movie was re-released to theaters I finally went to see it.  What bad experience, it seemed very stilted and stereotypical.  Sorry I went.

George Reeves, who starred as Superman (on tv), was one of the twins that were vying for Scarlet's attention in the opening barbecue scene.

How old is she? Your title says it's her bday, how old? I realize she is no longer living, but...how old?

@KingstonsMom

And now it's the #1 movie selling on Amazon.  In 1939, think of all the black actors that were employed to make the movie! I love the movie and never thought it glorified slavery.  I read the book and watched it the first time when I was in junior high.  I really liked the character Belle Watling and I never wanted to be a madam either. Go figure.

Thank you for that tidbit, @Forbidden Fruit 🙂

I read the book multiple times when I was younger.
