Has anyone seen THE INTERVIEW??

This would not be a movie that I would be interested in - at first I thought it was publicity stunt. Has anyone seen it?

Re: Has anyone seen THE INTERVIEW??

I saw it. I honestly never intended to, but I didn't have anything else to do on New Years Day and saw that it was On Demand. I had actually noticed earlier in the week how well situated the comedy would have been for a Christmas release - there was really nothing to compete against it in a market full of Oscar hopefuls and family fair. It may have done well at the box office.

Let me preface this by saying that I really liked "Tropic Thunder". This movie, to me, had a similar humor and, although I didn't like it as much as "Tropic Thunder", I did find myself laughing appropriately and didn't think it was an awful movie. A lot of butt humor.

There were some gross scenes that I frankly just turned my head at (as I do for every other movie - just saw "Wilde" and could't watch her take off her toenail, for example). Some people have a problem with animal cruelty, and there was a funny scene with a tiger they may find fault with.

I'm not sorry that I watched the movie (although now I guess I'll need to track my credit report more closely in case DirecTV gets hacked.)

Re: Has anyone seen THE INTERVIEW??

Yes, I hate to admit it but I watched it on Pay-per-view. I probably wouldn't have bothered if it had not caused the whole international blow up scenario.

I kept thinking that this is surreal that this little movie caused such a ruckus. This is a very skanky and foul mouthed movie. It has a lot of homophobic, sexual and a lot of the use of the F word, a lot of dope smoking BUT...I found a lot of satiric humor and I found myself laughing a lot in some places.

I can imagine that the North Korean dictator would find this offensive especially since he is an immature ego maniac with no sense of humor. But if he would have kept his mouth shut most of us would not have even bothered to watch.Wink

That's funny - maybe I was expecting more, but I wouldn't say there was A LOT of dope smoking. Not much secks either (Reese Witherspoon probably had more in Wilde.) Not saying there was none, but it wasn't something I ever focused on. Without having read up on Kim Jong-un, I did wonder if he really could be that charming in real life.

I watched it on Pay per View on Comcast. I never would have gone to see this movie or rented it - it was not even on my radar - just wondered what all the hoopla was about.

I should have known when Netflix released it so quickly, it was going to be one of those movies I keep watching to the end hoping it's going to get better and it never did. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}
