I think I’m getting addicted to Hallmark Christmas movies. 😳

I am not usually a Hallmark channel watcher. My sister loves the channel! She tells me which movies she loves and suggests I watch them. I have watched a few of the mystery movies which is a genre I enjoy, but I am not really a fan of romance stories. Still, she calls me to suggest ones to watch.

Since I am really bored at home right now, I set my DVR for a few Christmas romance movies she suggested. One was ok. The other three I really liked. What a surprise! I love Christmas so maybe the fact that the movies are set during the Christmas season makes them more appealing to me.

Now I am looking forward through the guide myself to see if there are other movies I’m interested in watching. I even texted my sister to suggest she watch one of the newer movies because I enjoyed it. 😱

Re: Hallmark Christmas Movies

I don't consider myself a Hallmark Christmas movie aficionado, but there are some I do like.  For me, I think it depends more on the actors and their chemistry than the actual story line as to whether I like the movie or not.

@wilma

I admit I am a Hallmark channels addict. I like the Signature mysteries very much. I like their original series like When Calls The Heart & Good Witch. I love the Christmas movies. Yes I know that in many cases there are similar plots and the same actors. But I love the spirit of them and I love the scenery and decor. I realize there are many posters who will disagree with me. Oh well...

I must say that this year I am enjoying them even more so. The plots are somewhat different and there have been some new actors. I especially liked Cranberry Christmas and Holly and Ivy.

Anyway I am happy you are enjoying them. Have a Merry!

Re: Hallmark Christmas Movies

I am sorry, but i find them like soap operas.   Only, I liked soap operas.  I havent been able to watch any in a few years.  They are very sappy, same formula, same actors, same everything.  They are also not very diverse  BUT they are entertainment for a huge population, and give great pleasure or pass time for many.  I am probably in the minority, and could never critisize anyone for watching them   But no, I d not like them.  I do watch the waltons as background everynight, and miss them when they are deleted for christmas movies.  I have to find  something else.

Re: Hallmark Christmas Movies

I am not a Hallmark movie fan, and having them on 24/7 is just way too much sappiness for me.

The adult fairy tale storylines are repeated over and over, which do not interest nor entertain me.

Have watched most new movies on two stations.  I have to admit pleasantly surprised with them.  Plots a bit more original and acting uplifting.

Re: : Hallmark Christmas Movies

I should have put in my earlier post that my favorite movie is "Grandpa for Christmas" starring Ernest Borgnine, Katherine Helmond, Jamie Farr, Tracey Nelson and Juliette Goglia (as Becca). It's from 2007 and I've only seen it listed as playing once this season in the middle of the night so far. Hoping they will show it again. This is not a romantic story at all, but about misunderstanding, forgiveness and family.

Plan to watch Cranberry Christmas again. I missed a half hour in the middle. Was the one about a man in a Christmas sweater any good? I wanted to watch it but a chatter called me and talked for an hour.

Re: Hallmark Christmas Movies

Does anyone remember:

Don’t they re-air all of the new movies on Christmas Day, but with no commercials? I seem to recall this - at least on the regular channel.
