Yes--I miss that soap and a. Atwt. All there is in the afternoon is talk and I don't know half of the people. Also some of them are so loud.

Plus the talk shows are a bunch of bull, no one going to say what they really mean or are thinking on any subject., They would not have a show. I did like the talk back in the at with PHIL DONAHUE AN GERALO. Some meat to them. I like Meradith Veria(sp)? But now she is so silly. Too bad the woman is smart.

I've watched soaps off and on for over 40 years. The Edge of Night always had a mystery going and I named my son after the character, Adam Drake, one of the hero's. I thought Katheryn Hayes (sp??) was just beautiful and such an elegant woman on "As the World Turns". I remember that my elderly great Aunt Rosie called the Lisa character on that soap "their little Lisa" and she was a hot mess. "Santa Barbara" was young, fresh and so west coast. . .the Hispanic hart throb, A Martines (sp?) was recently on Castle and looked old. . .but then aren't we all. . .Anyway I've watched a lot of soaps but turned to QVC as I don't like all of the talk/game shows that are now on. It's really nuts, but I quit using Dawn dish detergent to get back at Proctor & Gamble for their choices in programming.

I loved ATWT also!! Lisa was always such a character and Kim was so lovely. Loved the Hughes family.

Yes! I remember Papa Bauer ( what was the husband's name?) and Bert Bauer on GL! I was little but remember and loved the family atmosphere of that soap.

I felt they ruined both soaps when they brought in all the teens and the story revolved around them instead of the long time actors who were excellent.

I looked up just a few of the actors. Jerry VerDorn was on One Life to Live and on Broadway, He's been married since the 70's and has 2 children.

Holly (Maureen Garrett) has a partner. Spends time supporting the President and helps son develop a food forest (whatever that is).

Kim Zimmer (Reba) - Wrote a book in 2011 about her acting career, she still acts, though not as much.

Robert Newman (Josh) - Acts on Criminal Minds, Law and Order and other shows. He's also been in plays and played Captain Hook on broadway. He's married.

That's a few of them.

Holly was one of my least favorite GL characters. Never understood what Roger and Ed saw in her!

I guess because her character was sweet. I don't remember. I do remember exactly what she looked like though. She was so young and sweet. I used to love Roger. He was like Adam, kind of bad boy (always in trouble, but something about him.

Did Jerry VerDorn also have a thing for Holly too? She was a brunette version of of Hope (in that so many guys fought over her).

What are some other memories? Good grief! I can't believe I can remember what they looked like.

Yes, annabellethecat, I believe Ross M was another one who was stuck on Holly. Although Ross came on the scene as Roger's attorney, I quickly warmed up to him and never thought any of those ladies were good enough for him. Smiley Happy

Another memory I have was Anne Murray's song "You Needed Me" playing in the background during the Kelly and Morgan scenes. Remember the trips to Laurel Falls? and Kevin Bacon as Tim? and the manipulative Nola Reardon?

I remember falling out of my chair when I learned Lujack from the Galahads was a Spaulding!

If they could find a way to bring GL back, I'd sure tune in to watch. Of course, they'd need to write it so that Ross survived the plane crash.

While looking up some of the people I saw something about Nola (can't remember). It's strange how when a name comes up I can totally see them.

Remember Lujack was 'the bad kid'. He had a crush on Beth. I remember something about them taking off and going to New York or somewhere. What was that story line about?
