I’m the opposite - I love a good musical.  I saw this movie at the theater twice and enjoyed it both times.

I'm on the "I enjoyed it a lot" side of the fence. I wonder if seeing it on the big screen at the theatre (that's where I saw it)  makes a difference. Unless you just don't care for musicals period regardless of where you watch it.

If you are referring to The Greatest Showman starring Hugh Jackman. My daughter and I loved it and saw it twice.

We ended up buying the DVD to see the special features. It was very interesting learning how and why they shot it the way they did.

They started working on the idea in 2009. Hugh Jackman read many books to learn as much as he could about P.T. Barnum.

Jenny Lind was an Australian opera star. Barnum and Lind remained friends and she did complete the tour. So, the "hint of an affair" was fictionalized.

Lind did donate everything she made to charitable causes.

As a child I read the biography of Jenny Lind and was fascinated by her.

I didn't know it was a musical when I rented it from Netflix

Like OKPrincess, I grew up watching musicals, so I really enjoyed this one.

I love Hugh Jackman!

Re: Greatest show on earth movie

Just don't like musicals, never did even back in old days. I'm not into fiction whether books or enterainment.  Got free at library where I get all the recent DVD's. So, just took it back. LOL
