I saw this picture on Instagram, commemorating what would have been her 95th birthday today.

Stunning photo, she was so beautiful

@Greeneyedlady21  Such a beautiful lady. I loved her in High Noon with Gary Cooper.

A stunning classy actress!  I loved her movies, Rear Window, High Noon and High Society are favorites.  Grace Kelly 's fashions in her movies were so beautiful.  She truly was a movie star!

My mom must have known one of her bridesmaids. When Mom died we found a book about Princess Grace with a very personal note to Mom from one of her bridesmaids. If Mom ever talked about her I don't remember it.

A real beauty.  Classic features.  And a good actress, too.  Ir would have been interesting to see her age.

Granted, it was a different time, but did you know that Grace Kelly's father had to pay Prince Ranier a $2 million dowry .... AND submit to a fertility test to prove she could have children?

Dowries were not unheard of for centuries and even Princess Diana had to go to a Physician for verification to the RF that she was still a virgin.

That is sad that you don't know the story about the book and the bridesmaid and the connection to your Mom.

Every once in awhile a Grace Kelly bridesmaid story would be in the news. Wonder if your Mom kept in touch with her.

When I was clearing out my parents house after they died, I ran across so many items. I wish they were still around so I could hear the story behind the items.

Did your Mom grow up in East Falls? The high school I attended merged with Stevens School (where Grace Kelly went to school). We would pass her parents house frequently. That is as close as I ever got to seeing Grace Kelly.

It is funny my family and many friends had/have houses in Ocean City, NJ. The Kelly's had a house there too. We would try and figure out which house was "The Kelly" house. We figured it had to be a brick house - we never figured out which house it was. I know why now - it had stucco on the outside.
